Faster speeds, at no additional cost

Hi everyone, Alex here. I just wanted to let you know that in order to better serve you, E-Socialite has upgraded the servers that power your wonderfully designed websites.

This upgrade, has come at a small cost (of convenience). Previously, our mailserver for incoming and outgoing mail was box405.bluehost.com. This was changed during the update, which is why your e-mails may not be working any more.

To access your e-mails, simply go into your mail management programs, and change your incoming and outgoing servers to box922.bluehost.com. If you have any trouble, I am always here to help out. Either give me a call on my cell phone, or use our website contact form to send me an e-mail.

I appreciate your patience with this, and I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you

Very Respectfully

Alex Manor

“Introducing Pinterest Web Analytics”

This morning I woke up to a nice surprise. I received an e-mail from Pinterest’s Pinbot, who notified me that Pinterest was happy to annouce Pinterest Web Analytics. My mind was racing with ideas about what this announcement could possibly mean. Now, Pinterest had already made the announcement on their blog two days ago on Tuesday, but this e-mail tells me that they are really ready to promote this feature of their site. This feature is no longer a soft opening, it is a launch.

Zuck

Everyone seems to have an opinion about Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook. “He’s selfish.” “He’s an egomaniac.” “He ruined his life by marrying that woman.” (And yes, these are all actual statements made by people on the forum Amplicate.

However, all opinions aside, no one can deny the extremely generous donations he has made to numerous organizations since his success. This year, he and his wife have donated almost half a billion dollars (that’s right, billion with a “b”) to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, which issues grants to a variety of causes in the San Francisco area. According to the Chronicle of Philanthropy, this makes Zuckerberg the second most charitable philanthropist of the year, falling far behind Warren Buffet’s $3.1 billion donation. Read more →

This is a start-to-finish guide for beginners!

This is a post out of necessity. Small businesses have been discovering the benefits of using Facebook, and unfortunately, there has not been a complete, start-to-finish guide on how to develop a working fan-gate for their Facebook pages. In this (lengthy) post, I’ll help shed some light on developing a working Facebook fan gate for 2013. Yes, this will be an up-to-date post…

Facebook is constantly making site changes, so I cannot promise that the code on this page will always function as intended, but it will be the first one I’ve seen that has been written in 2013. As of 7 February 2013, this code works.

Learning From Manti Te’o

Posted on by Leah Ruff in Social Media

teo

All sources of media have been blowing up with updates on the scandal surrounding Notre Dame football star Manti Te’o (above image from the Los Angeles Times). You can’t flip on the TV or jump on Twitter without hearing about the latest meme scrutinizing the validity of Manti Teo’s involvement with his “girlfriend” Lennay Kekua. What makes this story even more confusing is that most media sources can’t completely decide on a timeline of events. Deadspin, who broke the story last week, has provided the most comprehensive timeline of the Te’o/Kekua relationship, but the details are still a little sketchy. A lot of the situation has been heresay. It seems that the only truth that can be traced back is through official police documents, and none other following the social media trail.
